Gas Tech GTD Series

This new diffusion version of the popular GT Series is designed for confined space entry in the most abusive environmental conditions such as:

Wastewater- confined space entry into wet wells, dry wells, barscreen, manholes, drainage sumps, sed galleys, anaerobic digesters, digester covers, main influent flow flumes...

Utility Companies- confined space entry into cable vaults, open pits, cable chaseways, power stations, geothermal electricity generating facilities...

Refineries- tank entry, hotwork permits, pipe line monitoring, shipboard tank inspection, fuel transportation vehicles and piping...

Rail Tank Cars- confined space entry testing before cleaning, scale removal, washdown...

The GTD is available for the detection of combustible gas (0-100% LEL & 0-10,000 ppm), oxygen content (0-30% Vol.), hydrogen sulfide (0-200 ppm) and carbon monoxide (0-300 ppm). This model is designed without an internal sample pump or elaborate filter system which could become contaminated under adverse environmental conditions. In addition, the GTD is a "Real Time" gas monitor which does not have the sample time lag which is associated with sample drawing instruments. This model is provided with sensor module which is designed to be either attached directly to the front of the GTD or connected to the end of an extender cable available in 20 or 50 foot lengths. This direct electrical connection allows for rapid response to atmospheric changes. When using the GTD for sampling from small openings around manhole lids, an optional hand aspirated sampling adapter should be used. This device will draw the sample through a small probe tube to the sensor module assembly. Once it is determined that conditions under the lid are safe, the lid can be removed and the sensor block slowly lowered into the confined space to test at all levels. Generally, the sensor module is positioned in the breathing zone of the worker within the space. The GTD is manufactured from rugged polycarbonate-polyester plastic which is resistant to chemicals and abuse. The extruded aluminum sensor module is fully gasketed to protect the individual sensors from such hazards as water spray, immersion into liquids and shock. In addition, the sensor module has a built-in repeater alarm which will warn the user of a gas, fault or low battery condition. The GTD is a fully microprocessor controlled instrument with built-in data log feature for providing records of exposure and easy graphing of concentration over time which is ideal for long term trend analysis in waste treatment plants. The instrument can be powered from either off-the-shelf D size alkaline batteries or industrial 4.8 hour Ni-Cd batteries providing up to 90 continuous hours of operation with alkaline batteries and 40 hours with Ni-Cd's.
